It's a Family Thing!

Big City Moms is a concept that was developed on a personal need. I had just given birth to the love of my life, my daughter Hallie – and wanted to take part in everything that was offered in NYC for new moms. Well, I work full time for MSN and all the fun things to do for new moms and their babies were during the day – so with my sister, Leslie, we decided to create a moms night out program. The concept behind Big City Moms is that just because you’re a mom – doesn’t mean that you don’t need a girls night out.
Events include spa nights, dinners, book signings, wine tasting, shopping and more. Big City Moms has developed fun evening events non-working moms decided that they wanted to partake in too! In addition, we also organize fun events for the entire family.
My Advice
1) Know who you are working with! Be careful who you share your concept with and cherish your resources. As Sisters we know we can trust each other – but unfortunately we had to learn the hard way.
2) Manage your time; with me being a mom and working full time, and Leslie owning an online boutique -we live by our schedules. It's not a rare thing for us to be emailing each other at 2 in the morning because that's the time that works best for the two of us.
3) Enjoy what you do! We are having a blast with Big City Moms (and our parents are thrilled that we are working together). We love watching the friendships form between our members, and helping our sponsors reach their target audience.
4) Dream Big! We see Big City Moms as a program that could be helpful and fun to moms all over the country – we are shooting big and see Big City Moms being in every major city by 2007!
